  • The working principle and advantages of hydrogen bicycle

    1. How Hydrogen Bikes Work

Based on ordinary bikes, hydrogen bikes have added hydrogen generators and hydrogen storage devices. The hydrogen generator is a fuel cell, which generates kinetic energy through the electrochemical reaction of the built-in hydrogen generator. The riding process does not produce any carbon emissions, only water and heat emissions. The speed change function is achieved through the rider's pedaling process.

    2. Advantages of Hydrogen Bikes

    (1) Longer battery life. The service life of the hydrogen bike fuel cell system is about 2,000 hours, which is twice that of lithium batteries. This means that consumers have a longer consumption cycle and more stable use of hydrogen bikes.

    (2) Longer mileage. The generator of the hydrogen bike are not affected by the weather and can maintain a stable mileage. However, the best operating temperature of traditional electric motorcycles is around 25°. Too high or too low temperature will affect the charging and discharging of the battery, so the mileage in winter and summer differs by 10-20 kilometers.

    (3) Stronger safety performance. Traditional electric motorcycles are more prone to accidents when charging. Hydrogen bikes are safer in comparison. The low-pressure solid-state hydrogen storage device inside absorbs heat when the hydrogen is released, and the speed is slow, so there will be no explosion.

    (4) More intelligent. Hydrogen bikes have multiple Internet of Vehicles technologies, such as GPS positioning, Internet of Things communication, information collection and processing, etc. They can help realize functions such as intelligent perception, interaction, and big data services.

    (5) Hydrogen bikes have the characteristic of zero emissions throughout their entire life cycle. The hydrogen generator can be recycled and reused after the end of its product life, and the material recovery rate can reach more than 80%. This is in line with the modern society's concept of environmentally friendly transportation and has formed a lower-carbon and more environmentally friendly circular economy.

Although hydrogen bikes are currently only used in shared vehicles, with the establishment of a standard system and the improvement of industry competitiveness and sustainable development capabilities, hydrogen bikes may replace traditional electric motorcycles in the future and steadily move into the hydrogen energy era.
